Woodfin Seeks a Project Manager to Oversee Greenway and Blueway Project

The primary focus of the position is to guide the Greenway and Blueway project through completion and into operations. While construction is well underway at Silver-Line Park, the Town is moving into final design of an expanded Riverside Park and Whitewater Wave. Greenway project management is provided by Buncombe County Recreation Services as part of the County’s greenways master plan. Woodfin’s project manager will coordinate closely with the County team. The entire project is expected to span the next 30 months.

The Project and Facilities Manager will be an integral role in the realization of a project more than ten years in the making. Town Administrator Eric Hardy adds, “This dynamic project encompasses several moving parts across its $19 million project. Multiple partners, funding agencies, and stakeholders make this possible, and the Town Board has every intention to deliver on this commitment to the community. Once completed, Woodfin’s future will be fundamentally reshaped by this Greenway and Blueway.”

The Town also anticipates major investment in its storm drain system over the next five years. That work will rely on the leadership of a capable project manager as Woodfin continues to address its role of environmental stewardship.
