The Town of Woodfin is governed by a Mayor-Council form of government. The citizens elect three Aldermen to staggered four year terms every two years and elect a Mayor every two years in non-partisan elections. Photographs of the various Mayors and Aldermen who have served the Town of Woodfin since its inception are displayed in the Board’s chambers at Town Hall.
The Board of Aldermen meets monthly at 6:30 PM on the third Tuesday of every month and or by special call of the Mayor.
The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Woodfin recently approved a general obligation bond for the construction of greenways, sidewalks and parks.
The Board has placed this matter before the citizens of Woodfin for their consideration.
Here's some news you can probably use …concerning the upcoming THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.
As all of us are probably starting to salivate over that one particular Thanksgiving dish that we love the most …we thought it might be a good time to let you know how municipal operations (like garbage collection) will go next week.
We'd like to advise our residents that the Woodfin Town Hall Administrative Offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 22nd and Thursday, November 23rd in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Sanitation Services will run as normal except for the Thursday, November 23rd. Residents scheduled for Thursday garbage and recycling collection by the Town of Woodfin should instead place their materials to the curb on Friday, November 24th. If your scheduled collection day falls on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday of next week you will experience no changes or disruptions to your collection schedule.
Police Services will continue to operate (as always) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Now that we've delivered this important news you can all go back to checking your pantry to make sure you have all those ingredients that don't seem to be there when you start preparing the holiday menu (we're looking at you Rubbed Sage!)
